As the news has covered at length we are in the grips of a cost of living crisis which is gripping the nation. In April many of the costs on which the lesson price is based will be increasing which has prompted a review of lesson pricing.
Currently I offer a lesson price of £56.25 per 90 minute lesson, with instructor training matching that lesson price. I also offer a discount of around 7% for block bookings of five lessons at £262.50. However, the costs of living are going up; my fixed term energy tariff expires in March and the price for the times I charge my car are set to double.
I understand that I am not the only one facing a cost increase and I’ve tried as hard as I can to minimise the impact since I left Pass N Go Driving School. I feel it’s unfair to preserve a discount for those who can afford to buy lessons in bulk while putting the price up for those who are buying week by week because they can’t afford to buy a pack.
My price was set to be below the local average when I left the national school which I’ve tried to maintain. As such I’ve done research in to the published local prices which average around £39-£42 per hour for automatic in Sheffield.
